A Louisiana native, Coyt graduated from the University of Louisiana-Shreveport in 2005. While in college, Coyt played baseball for the several colleges before earning his bachelor degree from Louisiana State University- Shreveport in the Summer of 2005.
Coyt has been married to his wife Ambrey since 2007 and has two boys, Kylen and Micah. He lives in his hometown of Baton Rouge, La., and in his free time he enjoys baseball, hunting, fishing, golf, and LSU sporting events. Coyt is also the proud owner of Louisiana Lugnuts Baseball LLC (youth baseball organization), where his organizational teams range from 3u-14u. Many of his players have gone on to play at the collegiate level like Coyt.
